The Retirement Run

Whangārei → Cape Reinga → Kaitāia → Whangārei
Approx. 750km total (450km Saturday, 300km Sunday)

We’re cashing in our super and busting out the gold card to head north! This time it’s all about cardigans, slippers, curlers, walking sticks, golf hats, and RV road trip vibes — because the theme is Retirement.

We’re going right to the top — literally. Cape Reinga should be on every Kiwi’s bucket list, and we’re ticking it off in true Gumboot Rally style. Picture 100 “retirees” wandering Northland, snapping photos, cracking jokes, and trying not to get lost.

Car Entry – $299
Includes as many people as you can legally fit in your vehicle.

The Adventure

Our mission pack will send you through backroads and hidden gems of Northland. Expect wacky photo challenges, scavenger clues, and plenty of laughs — it’s all about points, not speed.

You might be hunting the colour of a letterbox, finding a hidden landmark, or snapping proof of your team’s “retired” antics. Every stop is part of the story.

Charity

The Charity for 2026 is Kidney Kids we will be raising awareness and money all year for these amazing humans. Big prizes up for grabs for the team that raises the most so think out side the box ask your mates work collogues even customers become our Donation Champion.

The Weekend Vibes

New to Gumboot Rally? Bring your sense of humour — that’s all you need. We’ve had everything from Ladas to Lambos, Falcons to Ferraris, utes even a Fire Truck. Whatever you drive, you’re part of the fun.

Saturday night we come together for dinner and prizes, and Sunday wraps up with the grand prizegiving before you cruise home. Hoping to be all finished up late arvo so we all have time to drive home in the light.
